Crystal Library
There are many documentation tools available for Crystal Reports. They generate paper print outs – great for filling filing cabinets but no use for managing your portfolio of reports.

This old method led to:
  • Disparate documents
  • No information sharing between users
  • No central store of reporting knowledge
  • Need a documenter to document the documentation!

When designing Crystal Library, Chase International realised that what companies needed was to be able to store their valuable report definitions in a central repository. Documentation could then be done using the industry leading report writer – Crystal Reports!

This method allows users to share their knowledge of report writing across a company and to examine the way other users have defined their reports. This avoids the normal problem of the same report being created by multiple users unaware of their colleagues work.

Adding reports to the Library is simple and flexible:
    • Single Reports
    • Folder of Reports
    • Folder with Subfolders
    • Directly from Crystal Enterprise 9
    Version Control
    • If a report is changed and then added to the library again, multiple versions will be stored providing all the information needed for comparing versions
    Multiple User Support
    • By using a central database, multiple users can add their reports to the same Library
Library comes with 5 sample reports and a full database schema:
    • Simple Summary of Support
    • Formula Library
    • Database Table Usage Cross-tab
    • 'Near Duplicates'
    • Full Report Specification
